Joy Through Self-Acceptance

Dear Sequoia Records Tribe,

As things start to get back to normal from the pandemic, and we are able to start to do some of the things we have missed, we find ourselves with mixed emotions.

The beauty of the spring and return of sunny days combined with our new found freedom beckons us to feelings of happiness and joy.

But we are also still feeling grief for those who are gone and the countries in the world who are still struggling with reducing their cases and getting everyone vaccinated.

There are also some feelings that as we start to do normal things, it just doesn’t feel quite normal yet.

Our sense is that this moment calls us to be gentle and patient with ourselves.

We can allow ourselves to feel some joy sometimes, but then if we need to be quiet and feel some feelings of sadness, we can let ourselves do that also.

Total acceptance of our feelings and what is before us is the way through.

We find that meditating and listening to serene music can make this process so much easier.

Since we started recording many years ago, we did so originally because we needed to feel that inner peace.

After all these years when we play music together, we are able to let go of our fears and embrace the presence of the moment.

We are currently composing some new songs, and we hope to have them for you to hear soon.
