New Age Retailer
Singh Kaur born Laura Drew; known for her work in the steadily selling Crimson series, released the stirring 1994 Spiritus as Lorellei. Her sweet, crystal-clear voice is loved by many thousands of fans.

Gary Stadler also released the gorgeous Fairy of the Woods in 1996. His ephemeral, angelic keyboards and piano beautifully evoke the magical world of the fairies. On Fairy Nightsongs, Kaur and Stadler bring the healing mystery of the fairy folk to life. Kaur's voice soars like fairies dancing on gentle night breezes, with lyrics and pure vocalizations. Stadler composed most of the music and contributed string bass and cello to his keyboards and piano. There's also a bit of harp and background vocals.

Fairy Nightsongs is absolutely exquisite from beginning to end. A couple of especially touching tracks include the melancholy "Laura's Hill" and the childlike "Fly Away." The cover booklet is filled with entrancing art and complete lyrics.

Convergence
I cried when I first heard Fairy Nightsongs, because its "New Celtic" sound resonates deeply with ancient cellular memories, but also because Singh Kaur's voice brought to mind this great musician and personal friend who has passed from our midst. Singh Kaur's purity of soul shines through her crystal voice. Her final vocal effort with instrumentalist, Gary Stadler, on Faiy Nightsongs does not let us down, from the mystical and touching Fairy Ring to the inspiring A Spark in the Night. Knowing that Fairy Nightsongs is the last of her musical legacy gives us even more reason to acquire this harmonious collection of moving vocals and gentle instrumentals, which use real strings, harp and piano, in addition to well-voiced synthesizer tracks. Thank you, Gary Stadler for bringing us another Fairy masterpiece.

A Journal of Women's Mysteries
Fairy NightSongs is a pleasant musical journey into a magical world of wonder and relaxation. The music has the comfortable equality of a warm blanket on a cold winter evening. The vocals are lilting and clear with lyrics that evoke images that would send any dreamer soaring into the misty woods of their imagination. There is a kind of medieval feel to the quiet simplicity of these songs. A welcome addition to any fairy lover's music collection.

Leading Edge Review
Following his best selling debut, Fairy of the Woods, (currently in the top 20 of New Age/World music charts), instrumentalist Gary Stadler joins his talents with renowned vocalist, Singh Kaur (Crimson Series), bringing you Fairy Night Songs.

Melding Gary's magical style with Singh Kaurs' wonderfully sweet voice, they take you deep into the mystical world of the fairy night.

The album begins with the toll of an ancient bell setting the stage for a musical journey filled with divine wonder and fairy magic.

Stunning Gaelic and English vocals, delicate piano melodies and Celtic orchestrations weave together musical traditions from Celtic to Classical to New Age. Fairy Night Songs transports you into the world of Celtic lore and mystery and then touches your heart with its enchanting melodies and enrapturing songs.

Mountain Luminary
Fairy NightSongs allows one to enter a secret world of Celtic lore and mystery. Breathtaking Gaelic/English vocals, delicate piano and Celtic orchestrations weave together musical traditions from Celtic to Classical to New Age Music. An excellent album for meditation. "These the truths in song we sing - Belong to you - The ones who see all." Excerpted from A Spark in the Night.

New Age Voice Magazine
This album picks up where Fairy of the Woods left off. Where that album featured Stadler's solo keyboard work, this one adds the beautiful voice of Singh Kaur, who has also recorded under the name of Lorellei. Other musicians join him to flesh out the sound with cello, guitar, violin, viola, harp and bass, producing an incredibly lush and romantic soundscape where you can see the fairies play in your mind's eye. It doesn't take long for the listener to feel like floating away on the lightest of airs, into the starlight and wooded glens where the fairies like to dance. Sweet, smooth and loaded with classic new age appeal.

Wind and Wire Magazine
While I happen to like fantasy, I wouldn't rubber stamp a recording just because it has fantasy roots, either. Of course, that's not necessary with this album. To say that Gary Stadler and Singh Kaur have recorded a near masterpiece of mystical Celtic music is an understatement. The combination of these two artists (Gary on keyboards and cello, Singh on synths, 12-string guitar, and vocals) has yielded magic - literally.

Look, I don't want to have to resort to comparison, but seriously, if you like Enya or Loreena McKennitt (the later minus her world beat rhythms). You can't help but like this. I mean it. My god, but Singh had a voice on her. Pure? Stong? Crystal clear? Words don't do her justice.

Not all the songs on Fairy NightSongs have vocals but with a voice like Singh's, you almost might wish they did. While her voice is not multi-tracked infinitely like Enya's, she easily has the same strengths. Musically, the album is sometimes quite subdued, but then drama is in high gear. In fact, the second song, the seven-and-a-half minute vocal cut, "The Fairy Ring" is a wonderful ballad that evokes images of medieval times and the world of faeirie.

I don't know that I can accurately describe this music very well. There are elements of space music (when synths are used as in "Fly Away") but then Celtic/Enya elements enter and we're into deeply romantic territory. Plus, piano takes center stage frequently in some songs. So, this is not really that electronic, either.

Before I end this review, I don't want it to sound like Gary's touches aren't all over this album, too. His piano playing is particularly evocative. "Darkness" features some beautiful keyboard work as it paints an eerie but beautiful sonic scene. Basically, Fairy NightSongs is a big step up from the earlier Fairy of the Woods, which was itself, a pretty good record. This, however, is world class.

My best friend Ellen came over for a brief visit on a recent Saturday. Ellen's tastes run more toward Diana Krall and Cassandra Wilson (jazz singer) or groups like Soul Coughing and Garbage. After hearing a few songs from this album (which was playing in the background as we talked), she turned to me and said, "What is this? It's beautiful!" Nuff said, huh? F

All that I hoped it would be…
Thank you for the rapid arrival of my 2 CD's (Fairy of the Woods and Fairy NightSongs). I have searched everywhere for that one piece of music that could emulate emotions, peace, spirituality and the true flight of soul that lives within us all. These 2 CD's literally covered everything I had been looking for and more. It took my breath away, the compositions, music and angelic voice of the purest vocals I have heard of Singh Kaur. Her voice is beyond this earth, a heavenly voice spun with gold. This music reaches a place no-one could dare to imagine. A secret place where the true essence of the human soul lives. All I can say, it touched the beauty and glory all in one. I can dream of greater things. A magnificent journey of classically woven moving sounds interspersed with magic and hypnotic resonance. Thank-you so much to Gary Stadler on reaching that illusive dream within me!! Much pleasure — Rita Kerr Melbourne, Australia
